Toxic World...

In this world of contaminated air, soils and water it definitely makes sense to eliminate as much pollution out of your food as you can. The basis of organic food is the production of food (Vegetables/Animal) without the use of chemicals like fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics and alternative feeding like human/animal by-products. When crops and animals are raised with clean foods and in a clean environment the meets/vegetables obtained will not have any of the harmful chemicals mention above and for that reason your body will obtain the nutrients it needs without all the pollutants.

Now all that is true and sounds great, but the reality of the cost of organic food over non-organic definitely makes the idea of buying organic a little difficult. For now most organic food producers cannot match the mass production volumes of the non-organic producers, which make prices higher. I also believe there is a little of speculation involved, but no matter what chemicals help produce higher volumes crops which in terms lower the cost of food.

So what to do? The cleaner your food the easier is for your body to deal with other pollutants, and for the most part what your body needs to fight pollutants is good clean nutrients, hence the importance of organic food.

If you can afford it go for it, but be smart and shop around. If you can only afford some things then at least you'll be lowering the amount of toxins you'll be consuming. You will still benefit and your body will thank you.

Hope this helps,

JJ
